Mercedes-Benz G-Class 2002-2010 U.S. recall

The U.S. NHTSA safety agency has a recall for the 2002-2010 Mercedes-Benz G-Class for what seems to be a non-issue, although as many as 3,522 G-Wagens are being called in for this in the United States.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is equipped with covers for the front turn signals, mounted on top of the front-wheel fenders in style. The government safety agency says the cover could “impact over time the signal’s ability to meet the minimum requirements of FMVSS 108” because it could inhibit the visibility of the signal.

Mercedes-Benz dealers in the U.S. will install a new turn light unit that works better with the stylised grill cover. It is unlikely that this recall will raise any eyebrows in the GCC.
