Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG 2012 debuts

The latest masterpiece from AMG, the performance division of Mercedes-Benz, is the all-new 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, which debuted at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show as well as the 2011 Dubai Motor Show.

Powering the ML63 AMG monster will be a 5.5-litre turbocharged V8 engine rated for 518 hp and 700 Nm of torque. An optionally-available AMG performance package boosts those power figures to 557 hp and 759 Nm of torque, allowing the ML63 AMG to do the 0-100 kph dash in just 4.6 seconds, 0.1 seconds faster than the regular ML63 AMG. Handling all the enourmous power would be the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7-speed automatic transmission, featuring three driving modes including an “ECO” mode, and a rev-matching function for downshifts. Top speeds are 249 kph and 280 kph for the regular and AMG-performance-package-optioned ML63 AMG respectively.

Other features in the ML63 AMG include AMG illuminated door-sills in stainless-steel, AMG sports pedals in brushed stainless-steel with rubber studs, COMAND system featuring hard-drive navigation and 7-inch colour display with central COMAND controller, Harman Kardon sound system, Bluetooth audio streaming, and 4.5-inch colour instrument cluster display. Alongside the power upgrades, the AMG Performance package includes, AMG Performance steering-wheel with DINAMICA grips, red brake calipers and carbon-fibre engine cover. Safety features include multitude of airbags and an endless array of electronic safety nannies from Mercedes-Benz.

Expect the new Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG to hit the showrooms in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and rest of the GCC by early next year.
