Ram 1500 Lone Star 2013 special edition for Texas

Chrysler has launched the 2013 Ram Lone Star 10th Anniversary edition to celebrate Texas, which is incidentally George W. Bush’s gun-totting state.

The celebratory edition of the Ram 1500 Crew Cab is equipped with bucket seats wrapped in perforated Katzkin leather with special logos matching those on the dashboard, floormats and the emblems on the exterior. It also rides on 20-inch wheels.

The special-edition Ram is powered by a 5.7-litre Hemi V8 that cranks out 390 hp and 552 Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. First customers will receive their set of keys in the second half of 2012.

These fancy pick-up trucks don’t form a part the GCC roadscapes that often, but it should not come as a surprise that 80,000 units of this Texas-only Lone Star model have been sold in that state since its launch 10 years ago, more than the total number of Rams ever sold in the Middle East combined.
