So we got a 2012 Lexus GS 350

Lexus is very proud of their new GS 350. Once the aging forgotten model of the range that was overshadowed by the ES 350 and the IS 300 at the showroom, The GS 350 is now the amalgamation of all the new tech that Lexus has cooked up for the near-future. The pricier LX 570 seems outdated in comparison.

The new GS 350 is a good-looking car, perfectly handsome and ticking all the right boxes. But nowadays, that’s not enough to stand out. Still, with that new grille, it looks a little more interesting than its German competitors.

At least it’s got those cool exhaust outlets.

We didn’t like the dashboard design when it was first revealed in pictures. But it is very nice in real life. That mouse-joystick thing to control that big screen is finicky though.

Rear passengers get decent legroom and their own controls for the stereo and a/c.

The boot is pretty big, as it should be for a car this size. It even has an electric open/close function.

The Lexus GS 350 is a sign of things to come from the brand that isn’t known to push the envelope on performance. As we see it, to really get the best sporting performance, you’d still have to bump up to the F-Sport model, although this car we drove is as good as it gets in this segment when it comes to pure luxury.
