Mitsubishi Lancer EX 2013 with new engine now in UAE

2013 Mitsubishi Lancer EX
While it may look the same on the outside, it seems the 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer EX has quietly received some changes under the bonnet. And it quietly went on sale in the UAE without telling anyone.

The aging Mitsubishi Lancer EX, first introduced in 2008, got some minor trim changes for 2010. From the 2013 model-year onwards, it still comes with a choice of two four-cylinder engines, but a new 1.6-litre 4-cylinder has replaced the older 1.5-litre motor, while the existing 2.0-litre 4-cylinder carries on without changes.

The new 115 hp 1.6-litre still comes mated to a 4-speed automatic, and only comes in basic GLX trim. Features include power steering, locally-installed CD/MP3 player with 4 speakers, manual a/c, keyless entry, 16-inch steel wheels with covers, power windows and even colour-coded bumpers, but only a driver’s airbag.

The basic GLX, mid-range GLS and top GT trims can be had with the 152 hp 2.0-litre, mated to a CVT automatic. The GLS and GT are differentiated by a body kit, while the latter additionally gets 18-inch alloys and sports seats, among other bits. The kit seems to have a new front bumper.

UAE prices start at Dhs 54,900 at the moment, although it could increase in the future, as previous Lancer EX prices have see-sawed considerably, based on demand, or lack of it. Incidentally, this Japan-sourced car is a different model from the Taiwan-sourced Mitsubishi Lancer Fortis that was launched late last year with a 1.8-litre engine.

Keep track of prices and updates in the Mitsubishi Lancer EX buyer guide.

  1. what this car needs is a new transmission.

  2. THIS CAR NEED NEW DESIGN TO POP UP THE SALES

  3. I don’t know what people don’t like in the Mitsubishi Lancer EX. It’s strong (even in 1.5 trim), very reliable, very practical and surprisingly fuel efficient when going on the freeway.

What it lacks is interior refinement (a point justified by its lower purchase price) but its most serious problem (in the EX) is its somewhat poor rear visibility. I wonder why the Sportback model is unavailable in the ME; but the 2.4L engine would certainly satisfy certain groups.

  4. Hi Guys,
the car is good in terms of the specs and the price when you go to book the car, yes all knows in UAE Al habtoor is the dealer who deals in Mitsubishi but i would suggest if you can buy from different dealer if possible as they cheat ppl easily, today i had experienced what my friends said me. we booked the car Lancer EX at the time of booking the car was good with its Specs with Alloy Wheel, Good Audio System etc etc. after viewing the car with those specs and confirming the specs 3 times we selected the car and put it down for booking, registration was done and they called us for car delivery… opps SHOCK… the car what we got was NO ALLOY, NO GOOG AUDIO SYSTEM and many more not avlb. i fought for approx 1 hr for the same and said i will not take the car i dont need this i the car what i saw was not the same car. (the car was booked for my friend) after loads of discussion we couldnt get anything as we wer not having the prof so all my friends and ppl please be aware as they can cheat on you too.
