Smaller Mercedes-Benz SLS-based sports car coming soon

What you see here are “spy shots” of the upcoming new sports car by Mercedes-Benz, these posed photos being handed out by the German carmaker themselves.
For whatever reason, Mercedes-Benz has decided to build a new sports car that will be a smaller version of the SLS AMG, except with conventional doors and a tiny rear seat. The fact that their line-up already has the SL-Class and the SLK-Class seems to have been forgotten.
It will feature fancier materials than an SLK though, with a new all-aluminium spaceframe, a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 possibly producing 485 hp, and new name that is speculated to be anything from SLC to SLR.
