So we got a 2014 Opel Corsa OPC Nurburgring Edition

2014 Opel Corsa OPC Nurburgring
This dark-orange Opel Corsa OPC has been doing the rounds of local media since the beginning of this year. It is the Nurburgring edition, apparently making it very exclusive. And being a manual, it will be even more of a rare sight here.

The ‘Ring-spec Corsa is more special than just a sticker package, with a retuned chassis, tweaked engine and all sorts of visual add-ons.

Inside, it remains serious, with adjustable racing seats, a fat steering wheel and more. Yet, it remains just as practical as a regular Corsa, albeit with two less doors.

But damn, it’s refreshing to see that Opel, of all people, have picked up the mantle from Honda and VW to offer true manual-gearboxed hot hatches in the UAE, where the joys of three-pedal driving are relegated to a handful of old-school enthusiasts and a whole bunch of reluctant commercial drivers. Shame, really. Even the wife had a round in it, and found it rather entertaining. More in the full review.

  1. Sure ladies will like this colour because they called it Henna – Not orange , the green colour for this beauty is so cool.

  2. how much does it cost? by the way there are lots of people out there including me who would love to use a manual car, but their daily life, work routine, traffic congestion etc stops them from buying a manual car…and it isnt too easy to maintain 2 cars at a time just for driving pleasure unless we are getting a big salary or commissions or bonuses lol…

  3. I’ll choose a manual transmission over an automatic anyday. Automatics are like bumper cars, except that you can’t T-Bone somebody and laugh it off.

    • It depends on the car my friend. A car like the OPC doesn’t make any sense other than manual to me.
But If I buy an S Klasse I wouldn’t even think of getting a manual one. That wouldn’t make sense.

  4. Well when I came to think about it I remember Honda Type-R which doesn’t last for long time more than 2 years , same I think will happened to this one also, because I found Opel been changed the outside design for normal corsa for 2015 model then sure the changing will follow this model too,the 2013/2014 design much better.

  5. Good car ruined with ridiculous pricing. Same case with its bigger brother, Astra OPC. What a way to re-establish the brand!
