The rustbucket classic cars of America
While we were touring the countryside in Texas during the 2015 Ford F-150 event, we spotted several rusted-out cars by the side of the road. But they were not just any old cars. They were the true definition of classics, ripe for the picking as project cars for restoration.
It seems the owners, or shall we say collectors, of these brown beauties knew as much, and displayed them with the intention of selling them, as at least one of the cars had a “For Sale” sign on it. Here are photos of some of the cars we saw. Try naming them all, because our knowledge of pre-1960s cars is a bit, well, rusty.
Ironically, the big thing about the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 is that it has an aluminium body, so it will never become as rusty as these cars, half a century from now.
