Chinese Zhengzhou-Nissan ZNA brand now in the UAE
AW Rostamani Trading, dealers for Nissan in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, is now also going to be the dealership for Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile (ZNA) in the UAE. ZNA is one of China’s “biggest” automotive manufacturers that was established in 1993 in partnership with Nissan.
Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile Company, established in 1993 and located in Zhengzhou in central China, is a 50/50 joint venture between DongFeng Group and Nissan Motor. ZNA will sell the Oting SUV, the Yumsun minivan and the Rich pickup in the UAE. As part of the deal, AW Rostamani Trading is also launching a brand new showroom on Deira’s Airport Road in Dubai.
The 2011 ZNA Oting is a 5-seater SUV based on the decade-old first-generation Nissan Xterra, only with a different front end and an underpowered 128 hp 2.4-litre 4-cylinder engine with 196 Nm of torque. For now, only one trim level is available, with rear-wheel-drive, 4-speed automatic, front-disc rear-drum brakes with ABS, power steering, adjustable steering column, remote locks, power windows, leather seats, power mirrors, roof rack, side-steps, CD/MP3 stereo with SD Card, power antenna, 16-inch alloy wheels, body-colour bumpers, manual a/c, rear parking sensors and one airbag, for Dhs 59,500.
The 2011 ZNA Yumsun is a 7-seater minivan that turns out to be the unlikely flagship, with its 158 hp 2.5-litre Nissan 4-cylinder engine with 240 Nm of torque. The single trim level includes soft-touch cabin trim, 4-speed automatic, 15-inch alloy wheels, front-disc rear-drum brakes with ABS, power steering, fake wood and leather trim, CD/MP3 stereo with steering controls and 6-CD changer, remote locking, power windows and mirrors, table on the backrest of front seats, 3.9-inch LCD screen with rear audio controls and 6 speakers, automatic antenna, rear parking sensors, auto front and rear a/c, and two airbags, for Dhs 69,500.
The 2011 ZNA Rich is a midsize pickup available in single and double-cab body styles, with a 137 hp 2.4-litre 4-cylinder engine with 217 Nm of torque. Features include a 5-speed manual, 15-inch steel wheels, front-disc rear-drum brakes, power steering, adjustable steering column, central locking, power windows, power mirrors, CD/MP3 stereo with USB and SD card, manual antenna, manual a/c and front seat belts, for Dhs 37,500 or Dhs 39,500, depending on body style.
The dealer is calling this a new era in Chinese vehicle sales in the UAE, although that seems like a tall order, especially for the mainstream consumer models, comedic names excluded.
Keep track of updates in the ZNA buyer guide.
