A few images of the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser facelift model have surfaced online.

Instagram user Hamad1two3 uploaded few pictures in his account of the 2016 Land Cruiser which includes screenshots from the brochure, as well as diagrams of which parts have been changed. From the images, we can make out it gets a new front fascia which includes new headlights, front-grille, bonnet and side fenders. For the rear, the bumper and taillight design has been updated. New alloy rim designs has also been added, along with updated door handles.

For the interior it gets a new instrument cluster as well as an updated centre console design. We are expecting new colours to be available as well for the leather upholstery.

Engine specs will most likely remain the same, which currently has 3 choices – the 271 hp 4.0-litre V6, the 304 hp 4.6-litre V8 and the range-topping 363 hp 5.7-litre. They all get a 6-speed automatic transmission. Only the base V6 model can be had with a 6-speed manual gearbox, exactly like the one in our own FJ Cruiser.

The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser should arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries before the end of the year.

Keep track of the latest prices and specs in the Toyota Land Cruiser buyer guide.

  1. That front grill looks like an after market intercooler. Looks keep getting weirder

  2. Is it me or that front end sort of looks like series 80?

  3. when is the next generation arriving? 2017? 2018?

  4. looks more like a face lift…

  5. I think it’s about time they got the next generation Land Cruiser. This one’s been here for about 9 years now and taken quite a beating from the Patrol of late.

  6. No matter how Land Cruisers look, they will keep ruling the region along with Nissan Patrols, because the huge fans of Land Cruisers don’t really bother about how it looks, I think.

When the current generation Land Cruiser was released with the initial facelift, everyone thought it will be a huge flop compared to the previous generation model. But the craze went up even higher 😛 That’s Dubai!

  7. Not sure which looks better, this or the Pontiac Aztek.

  8. Sources say this is from a japanese magazine and the pictures are not real and just photoshopped as you can see from the front end, it’s chopped from the current lc200 and the photoshopping is obvious. Let’s just wait for the real images from toyota for the all new land cruiser.

    • I’d say the first image is from the magazine that leaked the info, creating a photoshop from the other images which seem to be internal documents. Dealers generally get to see new models long before the public.

  9. Now someone will complain that this is unwanted news because there has to be 3 different sources to verify, with statement from Toyota also who will just deny it, lol!

  10. Been waiting for this. The big question is how’s the interior and safety options. The current V6 model doesn’t come with side airbags and stability control.
    If it’s good I ll buy it…..

    • The current V6 does have side and curtain airbags. It’s called the GXR V6.

    • Since when? And how about VSC?
Wanted to buy it few months back and it didn’t have either.

  11. Waiting for the Lexus LX too, it should be face lifted with the land cruiser.

  12. This wont be the next LC. Guaranteed.

  13. LOL …

  14. A face lift gone wrong
Where’s toyota going with the designs of the 200 series?
Very soon accessories shops will offer the conversion for few thousand dirhams but I doubt if there will be any takers.
Some of us true lovers of the 200 series were looking forward to something nicer.
I guess we have to wait 2 more years for the total new shape 300 series (or whatever it will be called).
