Hyundai Creta front

Hyundai has officially launched the Creta today in India.

Under the hood, there is only one petrol engine on offer, which is a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder unit producing about 121 hp and 155 Nm of torque. The other engines options are the diesel units which include an 89 hp 1.4-litre and a 126 hp 1.6-litre.

Standard features on the sub-compact SUV include central locking, 16-inch alloy heels, keyless entry, manual AC, rear AC vents, power steering, front & rear power windows, audio system with AUX/USB/iPOD/MP3/CD player, and 4 speakers.

Higher-spec models will get smart-key with a push start-stop button, 17-inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps, leather seats, navigation system, 5-inch touchscreen, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and phone control buttons, reverse parking camera, ABS, stability control and hill-start assist control.

The 2016 Hyundai Creta should arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries before the end of the year. We expect prices to start at around AED 55,000 and compete against the likes of the Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster.

  1. when it eventually comes and if it does show up with a 1.8L as top spec…I can see the Renault Duster getting dethroned as entry level SUV
It can even go up against the Renault Captur, though that is less of a Sub Compact SUV

  2. A handsome, small softroader for budget-conscious buyers. Given the price, this car will kill sales of Chevy Trax (not that there were many of them on UAE roads anyway). I would like to see how Creta competes against better speced vehicles of it’s size, such as Honda Hr-v, Mazda Cx-3 and Jeep Renegade, but their dealers seem to be sleeping(?).

  3. Son is as handsome as father (Santa Fe) 😉

  4. Isn’t this just the new Tucson?
Korea has this on their roads already….
    And it’s called Tucson…

  5. Nil stock in Saudi Arabia, waste of time, poor customer relation and services in ksa
