Lexus revealed the new 2017 LC 500 at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show.

The exterior takes many of the design cues we saw in the LF-LC Concept. It gets a massive radiator grille with a 3D mesh design, bordered by chrome. Tripe LED headlights, integrated with L-shaped daytime running lights complete the front look. The rear gets slim taillights and an active rear spoiler. 20 or 21-inch alloy wheels complete the design.

The LC 500 is the first Lexus to use the brand’s all-new “premium rear-wheel-drive luxury platform” that is part of the new corporate global architecture for luxury vehicles (GA-L). It is basically placing most of the mass, including the engine and the occupants, in a position more centralised and lower to the ground. For the interior, the seats are wrapped in Alcantara leather.

Under the hood, it gets the 5.0-litre V8 found in the RC-F and GS-F. It produces 467 hp and 527 Nm, good enough to take it from 0-100 kph in around 4.7 seconds. The power is delivered via a new 10-speed automatic gearbox, with Lexus claiming faster shift times that rivals that of a dual-clutch transmission, and also being smaller and lighter than some current 8-speed transmissions.

Expect the 2017 Lexus LC 500 to come to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and other GCC countries sometime next year.

  1. Same engine as the RCF and the GSF!! Why not add a couple of turbos and boom

    • The 5.0-litre V8 is extremely powerful.

    • @Alvin Emmanuel Thomas

No it is not (extremely powerful), it is good, but not wow, this should be a super car, the 5.0 L of lexus lacks a lot compared to competition, especially on torque side, also its full juice (467 hp) comes at high rev only, so you need to push the car to its limits to feel the power. but anyway, rumors say another version of the LC is coming later with turbo engine

  2. Just a small note, Lexus website mentioned that the 0-60 time is below 4.5 seconds, and in Lexus.com they said that the 0-60 time is 4.2 ?

  3. i wish to have this one day..

  4. No, thank you lexus! I love the car and was waiting for it but i wont buy it even though i can probably afford it. That’s because of the prices the dealers charge here. I can get a brand new rc-f from the US for 235,000 while the same car costs here 311,000. So how much will this one cost? 421,000? I’d rather save and buy a used ferrari. Unless, lexus regulates the pricing of cars over here or provide international warranty like mercedes. Lexus is making a big mistake and will pay for it in the form of decline in demand after 8 to 15 years. And when they reduce the pricing then, Genesis brand or any other brand will have a good chunk of their market share in their belly.

    • Exactly, I salute you, they are going crazy here with their prices, they are ripping people off in the day light, what annoys me is that people are paying with big smile on their faces, the biggest joke I heard in my life was the price of the (All New, hehehehe) LX 570, they changed the headlights and few tweaks and charge 100k extra compared to previous model, personally I’m shopping for a sedan with strong performance, so me, like you, waited for the GS-F, the sales guy told me it will cost 350k hehehehe what a joke, I would take a slightly used M5 or E63 with this amount of money, so I just skipped the idea, now Im considering an SRT charger, it is a good bargain and full of luxury specs along with sport performance, I would save 150k over the GS-F

    • Trust me, if you’ve got the cash, it’s SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper to buy a brand new dodge from USA, ship it over here, then buy warranty for it in here. When I calculated, i could easily save around 50k dhs on the srt hellcat.

  5. @Ibrahim … of course it will take that time, it is logical indeed, just need a calculator to know that from 0 to 96 the car takes 0.1 seconds for each 2.4 kilometres, so it will take 0.2 seconds to accelerate 4.8 kilometres, also dont forget that the faster you go, the slower your acceleration will be, for example, you accelerate for 50 kmh in 2 seconds, but you need 2.5 seconds to accelerate from 50 to 100, total is 4.5 for example, then you will need maybe 10 to 11 seconds to accelerate from 100 to 200 and so on

    • Well explained 🙂 Let me guess, you are an engineer, right? 🙂

    • the car will actually go faster at a higher rpm, so in the start it would be accelerating slower than being in a higher rpm, and between the speed 90 km/h and 100 km/h i’d say it will be in the second gear maybe, which will be at somewhere 6000-7000 rpm which makes the car accelerate really good ?
you did not take into account the traction problem, which may take even more time in the first couple seconds.
anyway they still haven’t given us the exact numbers yet.

  6. @Ibrahim you are right regarding the traction, but most of modern cars are programmed to give you the best lunch from start, also there is the shifting time, besides, the point of acceleratimg is to go ip the rev range, so it would not accelerate if you reach the top of the revs, if you have a manual and floor it, you will accelerate until you go out of engine power at peak rpm, so when you are at 7000 rpm, you are already at almost the peak of the revs

  7. killer lookz 😀
