Lincoln has officially revealed their new flagship, the 2017 Continental at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. It is set to go on sale in the United States and China first after the summer.

Under the hood, the Continental is set to get a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine, which produces about 400 hp and 542 Nm of torque. It gets an all-wheel-drive system, which is paired with Dynamic Torque Vectoring to provide torque to the appropriate rear wheel while cornering.

It will have luxury features galore, which include heated, cooled, and massaging seats that adjust to shape and weight of the occupants, reclining climate-controlled rear seats and Revel audio system. It will also get Active Nose Control and acoustic laminated glass to keep noise levels inside to a minimum.

There are a host of leather options for the customer. Stitching on the seats is specified at six to seven stitches per inch, and the slats of the center console door are laser-cut to maximize consistency of the grain pattern.

Safety standards are high, with the Continental getting the Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection system. It also includes adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera system.

The 2017 Lincoln Continental could make its way to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and other GCC countries sometime next year.

  1. Great to see the Continental back, but as close as this is to the concept, it looks like this production version has lost its refinement in the process of translation from concept to production. The concept has distinct curves above both the front and rear fenders, over the doors, and on the hood. Now these parts look like they miss detail.

Apart from the great interior, the door handles simply blew my mind. Try and locate them – they’re blended into the chrome window trim. What’s more? They don’t ‘pull out’. They instead have sensors and so are touch-and-open. Whew… Oh and the exhaust tips are classy.

The plain white paint doesn’t do it justice though. Really want to see this in dark colors, just like the concept.

  2. Seems like a confused mixture of charger, rolls royce, azera…

But ovrall really gr8 and head turner type…

  3. Now I want one
