Mazda celebrate Sharjah Heritage Days, opens new showroom
Galadari Automobiles celebrated Sharjah Heritage Days with its ‘Sharjah in Our Hearts’ drive, which saw a convoy of Mazda cars driven by regional media, take on a tour of some of the emirate’s historic and cultural sights, followed by the opening of their newest showroom in the emirate.
Mazda wanted to showcase three things through this event – safe driving, improving the environment and recognising Sharjah’s heritage and culture.
We started off the event by driving towards the historical Sharjah Fort (Al Hisn) Museum, which was once the home of Sharjah’s ruling family.
Next up we went to the Sharjah Discovery Centre, which includes the Sharjah Heritage Museum. The ‘Heart of Sharjah’ project is currently under way, which is a four-phase 15-year historical restoration project set to conclude by 2025, and will recreate the traditional heritage areas of Sharjah, making it a tourist and trade hub.
Our next stop was at Al Qasimia University, which is located in University City. The university, which was inaugurated last year offers free education to a limited number of students, who meet their criteria. It currently has 250 students enrolled from 45 different countries.
Lastly, we made our way towards Galadari’s new showroom opening in Sharjah, located in Al Qasba, Hind Tower. By this time, it was evening and Sharjah traffic was at its peak. However, we had a Sharjah Police car escort us through the traffic, saving us a lot of time.
The event was supported by the Emirates Motor Sport Federation in co-ordination with Sharjah Museum Department, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Police, Sharjah Municipality, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Al Qasimai University and Sharjah Media Corporation.
