2017 Honda Civic Hatchback

After a bunch of teasers, prototypes and a huge amount of speculation, Honda has finally made it official. The 2017 Civic hatchback will arrive in North America by this October. The new addition will join the Civic lineup that already includes the sedan and the coupe. It will be the first 5-door Civic to be released in the United States. The vehicle will be styled in a more Euro-way and the production model does not look that much different from the crisp prototype Honda showed off at the Geneva Motor Show.

All-New 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback Arrives This Fall in North Am

The new Civic will be made available with a single engine option in US which is a 1.5-litre DOHC direct-injected turbocharged 4-cylinder tuned to produce a peak output of 174 hp and 219 Nm of torque in the standard models and 180 hp of power and 219 Nm of torque in the Sport and Sport Touring models. The Sport and Sport-Touring models will be fitted with a high-flow centre-mounted exhaust, hence the increase in power. The transmissions on offer include a CVT and a 6-speed manual, the availability of which depends on the variant picked. The stricter EPA regulations for 2017 has affected the fuel economy figures anticipated for the CVT model which are 7.6/5.9/6.9 l/100 km (city/highway/combined).

North America will receive 2017 Honda Civic hatchback around October. No announcements on its UAE, Saudi Arabia and GCC plans has been made yet.

  1. first thoughts were it looks like a 2011 suburu impreza with over styling at the rear…

…Hyundai has made strides in the design department compared to Honda.

  2. If looks could kill…..

  3. Civic has lost its appeal a long time ago, and this one has destroyed it even more.
