2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado facelift revealed

Our news feed has been harboring a bunch of leaked photos of the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado for a while now. Toyota chose the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show as the venue for officially revealing their mid-size SUV. The new model is longer, roomier and it comes with updated looks, but in reality, it’s just a facelift.

The 2018 Land Cruiser Prado now looks broader and more butch thanks to the new grille. A set of new headlamps that comes with LED DRLs on the higher models flanks the new grille. The edges and the vertical slats of the grill show off a generous amount of chrome. The bumper and fenders at the front and read have received tweaks as well. The refresh offers a new lineup of fresh alloy wheel designs that range from 17 to 19-inches. The SUV has grown by 58mm compared to the previous model. The new Prado also adds two new body shades, namely Avant-Garde Bronze Metallic and Midnight Emerald Blue.

Toyota says that they have increased the quality of the cabin as a result of making changes to many small areas. The Prado houses the steering wheel from the bigger 2018 Land Cruiser. The infotainment system appoints an 8-inch display on the center console. The instrument cluster houses a smaller 4.2-inch display.

Under the hood, the same engines will remain on duty. The 2.7-litre four-cylinder petrol produces 161 hp of power and 246 Nm of torque that has time and again proved to be less effective in hauling the mass of the ladder-frame SUV. For a bigger punch, Toyota will offer the 4.0-litre V6 with 249 hp (in European markets) on tap. The 2018 Prado mates a  five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic to the former while the latter comes exclusively with the auto-box.

Expect the new model to debut in the UAE and GCC by early 2018.

  1. Same like the old ugly prado

  2. Looks like a much better version of the current one…and handsome too. And love that extra height the revised front bumper gives.

  3. Wow, LED lights on higher trims, Im impressed

  4. 4.0 is just right. 2.8 diesel and 2.7 petrol are way to underpowered for this vehicle.

  5. Looking so beautiful
