2019 Ford Edge ST released in UAE

With the launch of the refreshed Ford Edge here, the American brand has also introduced the ST brand to its SUV lineup in the UAE. The Edge ST features the most powerful V6 engine available in its class.

Under the hood, the Edge ST comes with a tuned 2.7-litre twin-turbocharged EcoBoost engine pumping out 335 horsepower and 515 Nm of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It gets standard all-wheel drive with selectable traction control, an available performance brake package, and ST-tuned sport suspension.

A new Sport Mode allows better throttle response and holds gear better through cornering manoeuvres, sharper engine braking, and louder exhaust tone. The Edge ST gets paddle shifters and the front seats get additional bolstering as well.

The exterior features a wide mesh grille, side skirts and dual-exhaust outlets. 21-inch wheels are standard and then there are the special interior design cues on the steering wheel, seat backs and scuff plates.

For 2019, Edge introduces Ford Co-Pilot360, which bundles driver-assist features previously available only as separate options, as standard. Technologies like Blind Spot Information System and cross-traffic alert are included. Other technologies include pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, auto high beams, a lane-keeping system and a rearview camera.

Standard Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist offers evasive steer assist, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control with stop and go capability.

Dual-stage airbags, side-curtain airbags, rain-sensing wipers, and a glove box knee airbag, front and rear parking sensors, 180-degree front camera and Park Assist are also fitted as standard.

Inside, drivers will find a standard wireless charging pad nestled in the forward media bin, and a standard 12-speaker premium audio system by Harman. SYNC 3, with an 8-inch touchscreen, is standard on the ST.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the UAE, KSA & GCC in the Ford Edge buyer guide.
