2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition base models on sale in UAE *updated*
Toyota’s UAE dealer has quietly launched a “limited edition” Land Cruiser called the Heritage Edition. But it’s quite different from the real factory-built Heritage Edition offered in the United States.
Essentially modified locally with just stick-on parts, the UAE-spec Heritage Edition just adds the body decals and a fake-wood gear knob to the lowest-trim version of the Land Cruiser that comes with stark feature-free plasticky interiors, cloth upholstery and no rear a/c. Other features (or lack thereof) are unclear due to the lack of information. It comes with either a 4.0-litre V6 mated to a manual gearbox, or a 4.6-litre V8 mated to an automatic.
They are supposedly “limited” to a handful of cars, although it wouldn’t be too hard to “build” your own version with a visit to a Sharjah sticker-printing shop (when they open again after the COVID-19 lockdown finally ends).
The V6 one apparently costs a whopping Dhs 170,000, while the V8 rings in at Dhs 225,000, as per Motoring Middle East.
Update: We have received more information on the specs for the Heritage Edition. The total number of units is 20 for the V6 and 80 for the V8, for a total of 100. The V6 manual only comes with rear “barn” doors with spare wheel, 17-inch steel wheels and the aforementioned “wooden” gear knob, while the V8 gets a 10-inch navigation display with Bluetooth, “Heritage Edition” embossed on the headrests, crawl control, air compressor, black roof rails, chrome grille, fog lamps, 17-inch alloys and orange front indicators. Both cars come in various colours, including white, black and silver.
