2023 Lamborghini Urus S is the new ‘base’ model
Hot on the heels of the sportier Urus Performante, Lamborghini took the wraps off their new 2023 Lamborghini Urus S. The new S gets Performante power but without all the crazy sporty bits. The Urus S will now be the stepping stone to the super-SUV range.
Upgraded Engine
The 2023 Lamborghini Urus S replaces the existing Urus and forms a new two-model range for the Lambo SUV. The Urus S and Urus Performante shares the twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, churning out the same amount of power, at 666 hp. What makes the Urus S different is that it takes a less-crazy approach to this power than the Performante.
It does not go through the diet that helped the Performante chop off 47 kilograms from its weight. Hence, the Urus S will be slower from 0 to 100 kph by 0.2 seconds. It is no slouch though, as it can hit the mark in just 3.5 seconds. The top speed remains the same at 305 kph.
Exterior Design
Design-wise, the 2023 Lamborghini Urus S gets a different treatment that is not as angry as the Performante. But being a Lambo, the design is aggressive with many straight lines and creases. The new model year brings in a carbon fibre hood with black air intakes. The underbody is covered with a stainless-steel element finished in matte black. Inside, the Urus S gets two-tone leather upholstery, and different carbon fibre finish options for several trim pieces.
There are multiple new customization options as well, including 22-inch titanium wheels or a 23-inch diamond-bronze option. You can choose to give the roof an exposed carbon fibre look as well.
The 2023 Lamborghini Urus S expands the SUV range to combat the recent surge in the super-SUV world in the form of the Aston Martin DBX 707 and the new Ferrari Purosangue.
