2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid makes global debut in UAE

Al-Futtaim Toyota has officially launched the all-new 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid in the UAE, marking the first-ever hybrid-electric variant of the legendary nameplate. The GCC has been used for its global unveiling, highlighting the enduring popularity and influence of the Land Cruiser in the region.

Combining 70 years of off-road heritage with Toyota’s latest hybrid technology, the new model offers improved power, better fuel efficiency, and enhanced driveability, all while preserving the reliability and go-anywhere ability that have long defined the Land Cruiser.

Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid Tech

Under the hood is a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine paired with a parallel hybrid system, delivering a combined output of 457 hp and 790 Nm of torque. Toyota claims that this makes the Land Cruiser Hybrid the most powerful Land Cruiser ever produced, boasting 20% more torque and 40% improved throttle response compared to its petrol-only counterpart. The electrified powertrain is also engineered for rugged performance, with the vehicle able to operate on the petrol engine alone in the event of a hybrid system failure—an important feature for remote adventures.

Tested in the UAE

Designed and tested for real-world conditions, including extensive trials in the UAE’s deserts, wadis, and mountains, the new Land Cruiser Hybrid maintains the model’s famed durability. The hybrid battery system is waterproofed to preserve its off-road capabilities, including water fording.

Available in VXR and GR-S trims, the hybrid retains the Land Cruiser’s signature road presence, with exclusive design cues such as Jet Black Hybrid bumpers (VXR) and Hybrid/457TT badging.

New tech highlights include:

• Electric Power Steering (EPS) for improved off-road manoeuvrability and better steering feel

• 1500W onboard AC power inverter (220V) to power household electronics and camping gear

• Toyota’s full suite of driver-assist and off-road features, along with luxurious interior options depending on trim
