2026 GAC GS8 Hybrid and Traveller launched in UAE

Gargash Motors has officially unveiled the all-new 2026 GAC GS8 lineup in the UAE, introducing Hybrid and Traveller editions.

The spotlight was on the new GS8 Traveller, which tackled a custom off-road course at the Dubai Autodrome with confidence, highlighting its rugged capability. This was followed by test drives of the Hybrid and Petrol variants on the track to demonstrate their acceleration, handling, and a suite of driver-assist technologies. 

The 2026 GS8 is now available in three distinct trims in the UAE:

• GS8 Petrol – from AED 149,900

• GS8 Hybrid – from AED 169,900

• GS8 Traveller – from AED 139,900

All models are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 248 hp and 380 Nm of torque. The Hybrid variant uses GAC’s 2.0TM Mega Wave THS System, offering the same performance figures while improving fuel efficiency. Multiple drive modes, including ECO, Sport, Comfort, and Off-Road, ensure adaptability for various driving conditions.

Visually, the GS8 gets a more assertive design across the range, with a larger grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, and LED lighting. The Traveller edition stands out with off-road-ready styling, a utility box at the rear, and chrome accents.

Inside, the GS8 continues GAC’s push into the premium SUV space with a seven-seat layout, tri-zone climate control, ventilated massage front seats (in the Hybrid), ambient lighting, and even an integrated fragrance diffuser. A 14.6-inch HD touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, dominates the dashboard. Other features include a wireless charging pad and an Alpine premium sound system.

Buyers can choose from exterior colours like Black, White, Dark Green, Silver, and Grey, with interior options in Camel, White, or Black. A 10-year warranty is standard across the range.
