Kia earns three IIHS 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards for K4, EV9, and Telluride
Kia has once again demonstrated its safety leadership by securing three prestigious 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the United States. The awarded models include the all-new 2025 Kia K4 (built after January 2025), as well as the flagship Kia EV9 electric SUV and the popular Kia Telluride.
These recognitions come under the most stringent testing standards to date from the IIHS, underscoring Kia’s commitment to advanced crash protection, structural safety, and innovative driver assistance systems. The awards apply to U.S.-spec versions of the vehicles, which are typically used as a reference point for global safety trends.
Commenting on the achievement, Yaser Shabsogh, Vice President of Commercial Operations at Kia Middle East & Africa, said:
“At Kia, safety is a foundational pillar of our brand. Being recognised by the IIHS with three TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards is a strong validation of the work we’re doing. Whether it’s through enhanced protection for rear occupants or technologies that help prevent nighttime collisions, we remain focused on delivering real-world safety benefits to our customers.”
He added that Kia continues to push the envelope through rigorous internal and external crash testing, increased ADAS integration, and a sustained focus on structural reinforcement.
The IIHS, a non-profit organisation, is known for setting the gold standard in independent automotive crash testing in the U.S. Its TSP and TSP+ ratings are widely cited by consumers, media outlets, and safety analysts around the world.
