Kaiyi X7 AWD and X7 PHEV in the UAE

Legend Motors has expanded its presence in the UAE with the launch of the new Kaiyi X7 AWD and Kaiyi X7 PHEV SUVs, as the Chinese brand continues its push into the Middle East.

The company says Dubai will serve as a strategic hub for Kaiyi’s regional growth, with the launch reflecting the increasing popularity of Chinese SUVs and electrified vehicles across the GCC. 

UAE plays important role in growth

According to Legend Motors, the UAE remains one of the region’s fastest-growing automotive markets, with SUVs accounting for nearly half of annual new vehicle sales. The company believes rising demand for technology-rich and fuel-efficient models is creating opportunities for new brands to establish themselves in the market. 

Kaiyi X7 AWD

The Kaiyi X7 AWD is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 256 hp and 390 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0-100 kph in around 6.9 seconds. 

Kaiyi X7 PHEV

Joining the lineup is the Kaiyi X7 PHEV, which combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and a lithium iron phosphate battery. The plug-in hybrid offers a claimed electric-only driving range of up to 150 km on the CLTC cycle and features EV, Hybrid and Power Assist driving modes.
