When almost every other SUV in the world are ditching ladder-frames, some remain unicorns. These old-school SUVs are now an oddity, in a good way. Kia Mohave is one among that rare breed, but sadly is not living in our region anymore. In its home market, however, it gets a refresh.
The decade-old Kia Mohave has finally been updated. Kia officially released a couple of images of the new generation model via their facebook page in South Korea.
Korea’s fast-growing carmaker Kia Motors has announced just announced a growth in sales of 24.4% for August, compared to August last year. Posting growing sales numbers throughout the recession, the news is overshadowed by the fact that Kia’s Vice Chairman Jeong Sung Eun resigned to take responsibility for the recent recall of four models as the South Korean carmaker, to be replaced by new Vice Chairman Hyoung-Keun Lee. Those Koreans sure take their recalls personally.
Kia is trying its hand in the electric rat race, with a new hydrogen-powered electric vehicle built from a Mohave. Their previous prototype was based on the Sportage, but maybe this one even goes off-road. It is being showcased at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show.
