Older residents of the UAE would remember Peugeots being all over the place about a decade ago. Heck, even we had one on our independent long-term fleet. Peugeot is oddly low-key around here nowadays, but their most recent cars are fairly attractive offerings, so we were keen to give the 308 a go. This one is the Allure mid-range trim level, with the turbo engine.
The French car maker, Peugeot has taken the wraps off their new 2008 SUV which is planned to be released at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The 2017 2008 have received a multifaceted grill which flaunts a perpendicular style. The headlamps, roof, roof rails, rear spoiler and rear doors are subjected to little tweaking as well. We really like Peugeot’s new design direction. The brand has officially shed light on the 308 R Concept hot-hatch which debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The sub-compact market is a lucrative segment that’s dominated by a select few. With the Toyota Yaris and the Nissan Tiida laying waste to competition by everyone from Chevrolet to Volkswagen, the latest entrant to try their luck is Peugeot. They already had the little 208, but needed more of an edge in terms of space versus price. And so, we have the Peugeot 301, a car designed for “emerging markets” that concentrates on cabin space above all else.
