The other day, as I parked this candy-red Mazda CX-5 tester, an older European couple came up to me and commented that it’s a good-looking car. They proceeded to ask me if it’s a Toyota, which is when I realised how much brand recognition Mazda has right now. Mind you, they were impressed by the car, inside and out, and they’re folks who were shopping for a Mercedes-Benz.
The current generation of the entry-level Mercedes-Benz A-Class is the third one in its timeline. This generation turned the quirky old A-Class into a well-proportioned hatchback. But with several lacklustre years under its belt, it was getting old and Mercedes has brought out a new one. They’ve taken the covers off a sharper A-Class which ticks all the right geek boxes, if not the enthusiast ones.

Acura is Honda’s luxury brand, found in only a handful of markets. The RDX crossover is Acura’s key player in the U.S. market.
