Alfa Romeo Driving Academy Program Relaunched

Alfa Romeo Driving Academy Program Relaunched

Alfa Romeo has officially relaunched its long-running Driving Academy program, kicking off on April 21, in collaboration with Scuderia de Adamich.

The partnership, which dates back to 1991, continues to focus on delivering structured high-performance driving experiences at the Varano de’ Melegari circuit in Italy. The initiative combines Alfa Romeo’s performance-focused engineering with Scuderia de Adamich’s expertise in driver training.

Full Alfa Romeo Line-Up Available on Track

Participants in the program will have access to the current Alfa Romeo range, including:

  • Alfa Romeo Junior

  • Alfa Romeo Tonale

  • Alfa Romeo Giulia

  • Alfa Romeo Stelvio

The program also reflects the brand’s broader powertrain strategy, offering exposure to petrol, hybrid, and fully electric systems.

Alfa Romeo Driving Academy Courses – Four Levels

The Driving Academy is structured across four tiers, aimed at different levels of driver experience:

  • Safe Driving – Focused on emergency handling and control

  • Advanced Driving – Builds deeper understanding of vehicle dynamics

  • Sporty Driving – High-performance track-focused sessions

  • Advanced (Track Mastery) – Designed for experienced drivers aiming for precision driving

Each course combines theoretical learning with practical track sessions, focusing on vehicle control, grip management, and chassis balance.

Alfa Romeo Driving Academy Based in Italy’s Motor Valley

The program is part of Alfa Romeo’s broader push to leverage Italy’s “Motor Valley”, a region known for brands such as Maserati and Ferrari, where automotive engineering, design, and motorsport culture intersect.

The Varano de’ Melegari track, located near Parma, serves as the main venue. It is known for its technical layout, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced drivers.

Backed by Motorsport Expertise

Andrea de Adamich, a former Formula 1 driver and endurance racing winner, founded Scuderia de Adamich. The organisation has since expanded globally, operating in over 35 countries, with programs led by professional racing and rally instructors.

Alfa Romeo Driving Academy to Focus Beyond Enthusiasts

In addition to individual driving courses, the program also includes corporate training and team-building experiences, with customised formats based on client requirements.

Industry Context

Driving academies have increasingly become a key tool for performance brands to build customer engagement beyond traditional ownership. For Alfa Romeo, the program reinforces its positioning around driving dynamics and driver involvement, rather than just outright performance figures.

Statement from Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo CEO Santo Ficili said the initiative aims to help drivers better understand vehicle performance in controlled conditions, emphasising that “performance without awareness is just speed,” highlighting the importance of skill development alongside capability.
