2010 Jaguar XFR revealed before Detroit show

The most hyper version of Jaguar’s XF sports sedan is going to be revealed at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show this month. The 2010 Jaguar XFR is meaner than ever and official images have already been leaked.

Fitted with a competitive engine, Jaguar finally has a car that can go head-to-head with established players like the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG. A variation of Jaguar’s corporate V8, it grows enough to become a 5.0-litre supercharged monster capable of 500 hp and 623 Nm of torque. Apparently that’s good for a 0-100 kph run of just 4.7 seconds and a electronically-limited top speed of 250 kph.

The XFR is fitted with new 20-inch alloy wheels, and larger brakes with calipers bearing the “R” logo. Exterior tweaks include a new front bumper with large chrome-trimmed intakes, a bonnet with XKR-style vents, muscular wheel arches, side skirts, a lip spoiler and a new rear bumper with four exhaust tips.

The interior has new dark aluminium trim, sports seats with the “R” logo and a sporty steering wheel. New leather trims also seem to be the order of the day. The cabin also retains the usual XF gimmicks, including the hideaway a/c vents and the pop-up automatic gear selector.

Expect this car to hit Dubai and GCC showrooms by late 2009. It is amazing that Indian owners Tata allowed this car to see the light of day in this economic climate.

Pix of the FIFTH Soul concept have been leaked and this time its a Soulster [combi of Soul and roadster]. It looks like a pick-up. Hope it goes to production.

  2. finally gr8 looking car. exterior look awsome and interior 2.

  3. superb car i think this will be the first british car which will competite with Germans Monsters like m 5 and e63 or cls 63. Before Jaguar was not building some nice cars but after tata took it they start building nice hope its not like tata which looks cool from exterior and when u driving it u feel like u sitting in a Tractor 😯

  4. I don’t think things actually changed after tata took over cuz its not been 3 yrs since the take-over and it takes between 4-8 yrs on avereage to develope a new car. this one must have taken 4 or 5

  5. Looks nice….would be really interested in how this performs on curves…

  6. but Tata is sure gon’ make some good profit wid tis car…already seeing pretty good number of XF’s on road thse days..and tis onez seems to be a killer!!…and Sohi, I dont think Tata’s cars are that bad…Apart from cheap quality interiors their cars are smooth; and the diesel engines are pretty silent even at speeds over 100…My uncle owns an Indigo back in India; he maintains it with good care; it has done about 75K and the car still runs good and has never given any reliability problems…I hav driven the car and it is smooth…worth the money paid!..I feel the problem is with Indians themselves..most of ’em berate the products of their own country even if the products are reasonably good..They even spread the false details and hence the rest of the world see the Indian products as downright inferior and crap!!..what more?? I’ve heard many Indians say that Jaguar and Land Rover is gon’ be cheap and useless only because Tata owns it now..Hmmm..God save us!

  7. About the Tata takeover I heard the british goverment helped with that and gave Tata loan to buy JLR.

I think that is why Tata is involve alot with the Jag and RR. But the XF was the idea of Ford but they didnt have the budget to make it and when it started on production they sold the company to Jag. Too bad.

The Jag sure looks make other car in class look boring by it style but I also like the E-class and 5 series too style wise.

  8. Just cos tata bought the car that doesnt mean the car is actually gonna be built in india..It just means tata OWNS Jaguar along with all its rights. They pump in the money when needed and make profit when the cars are sold..
Im not a indian but i dont think the British government gave TATA a loan. They are one of the biggest groups in India im sure they could’ve afforded it,and in fact, im not sure if it was Ford or the British Government, but they were hesitant in selling Jag to TATA cos it was an Indian Company..

  9. its not about the country product but the problem that i have drove many cars from tata its like a tractor when u driving. But i think their buses and trucks are ok.

  10. spyke I not Indian nor British but here is the source:

    from couple of website.

Anyway even if Tata has alot of money sometimes is very hard to develop a company too. There are many big companies which take out loan for there business just like Tata.

  11. what ever all you have to say know that this car with some modifications did 225.76mph or 360+kph on the salt flats in bonneville, USA that means it can go faster flat out on tarmac !!! watch the advert could find a proper video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlRQ8guG4CE&feature=channel_page

  12. this is the fastest Jaguar it seems!
