Abdullatif Alissa Automotive launches 2010 Chevrolet Camaro in showroom

Abdullatif Alissa Automotive Company successfully launched the all-new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro during the Sulaymaniyah showroom inauguration of its specially-dedicated performance and accessories sections.

The highly anticipated event saw more than 300 people be a part of the launch of the fifth-generation Camaro. The showroom itself was entirely refurbished to incorporate its new performance and accessories sections within the F1 pit stop and surrounding racetrack.

“We wanted young people to come down here and see for themselves that we are in tune with what they want. Not only have we launched the summer’s most exciting performance car, we can now personalize it for customers with the accessories of their choice,” said Riad Gohar, Alissa Auto Sales and Marketing Director.

The excitement built throughout the night as invitees checked out cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles in the performance section, modified cars, special alloy wheels provided by Pit Stop, a vehicle accessories company, and a procession of 18 classic and new Corvettes as the Corvette Club’s finest paraded around the showroom.

But the moment everyone was waiting for was the grand unveiling of the summer’s hottest car. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as Abdul Rahman Al Thakafy and Khaled Al Kasim, two customers who had pre-booked their Camaros, and three members of the Corvette Club, took the covers off the five 2010 Chevrolet Camaros to great rapture and applause, before the inevitable swarm of people surrounded both cars.

The 2010 Camaro is a stunning sports car for the 21st century, with a modern treatment based on the DNA of the first-generation Camaro, produced from 1967 to 1969.

The Camaro is available in two trims in the Middle East. The LT has a standard 3.6L Direct V-6 engine that pumps out 323hp (gross) and propels the car from 0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds. The SS model comes with two equally impressive 6.2L V-8 engines. The manual transmission packs 462hp (gross) punch while the automatic transmission puts out 441hp (gross). Both launch from 0-100km/h in a thrilling 4.7 seconds.

“The launch is a success. The atmosphere here is completely electric. Everyone here is talking about the new Camaro and how they will make it their own through the wide range of customizing options available in-showroom,” said Gohar.
