German firm 9ff, a Porsche tuner that claims to be a full manufacturer, will be presenting the 9ff Speed9 at the 2009 Essen Motor Show next week. Based on the latest 911 Turbo, the 9ff Speed9 is apparently a vague tribute to the 1955 Porsche 356 1500S Speedster.

While details are limited, the 9ff Speed9 has a cut-down windshield and a flat hard-cover over the lowered cloth roof. The body kit includes a front bumper, side skirts and a rear bumper, with new wheels.

The twin-turbo inline-6 engine is good for 650 hp and 890 Nm of torque at 2850 rpm. Mods include a “sports” air filter, upgraded ECU, custom 9ff exhaust system and a free-flow catalytic converter. Also standard is a Tiptronic gearbox with paddle shifters.

Handling is improved with adjustable shocks on the front and rear axles, “double” springs and four aluminium “spring plates,” as well as a 9ff braking kit consisting of 380 mm “compound” brake discs, 6-piston calipers and 9ff brake pads.

The interior has excessive alcantara trim on the dashboard, sports seats and sports steering wheel. It can be customised further, depending on the buyer.

9ff recently set up an official dealership in the UAE, so it should be directly available to regional customers. Pricing is likely beyond Dhs 1 million.
