Volkswagen CC five-seater option and R-Line versions in UAE

Volkswagen Middle East has responded to weak demand from its regional customers with a five-seater option and R-Line version of the popular four-door Volkswagen CC. Previously, the base model CC was designed to carry only four persons.

In response to two customer requests for a CC with even greater everyday utility, the new rear bench fulfils all necessary safety aspects, with a third head restraint and three-point seat belt at the centre position. In addition, the folding backrest is asymmetrically split, so that even larger objects can be transported effortlessly.

Managing Director of Volkswagen Middle East, Stefan Mecha, said, “In the Middle East, the importance of family takes precedence over all else, which is why we are pleased to offer an additional seat space in the CC without compromising comfort or safety.”

The Volkswagen CC with the 200 hp 2.0 litre TSI engine, the CC V6 with the 300 hp 3.6 litre TSI engine, and the CC R-Line version, are all now available with the new rear bench option at Volkswagen partners across the region.

Inside the Volkswagen CC R-Line, standard features include details like four customised tread plates in aluminium (with R-Line Logo in front) and a three-spoke leather-trimmed steering wheel with multifunction keys. The R-Line package also has front fog lights and the Park Pilot system.

17-inch (optional 18-inch) R-Line “Mallory” alloy wheels with 235/45 tyres lend a sporty touch to the Volkswagen CC R-Line. The front spoiler and side skirts are also re-styled and painted in the same colour as the body, with smoked rear lights and R-Line logos embellishing the front side sections.

Under the hood of the CC V6 high-class comfort coupé – launched in the region earlier this year – is a 220 kW / 300 hp 3.6 litre six cylinder direct injection gasoline engine. Among the most economical gasoline engines of its class, the Volkswagen CC V6 4Motion is electronically limited to 250 km/h; its average fuel consumption is 10.1 litres.

The 2.0 litre TSI has a 147 kW / 200 hp (at 5,100 rpm) turbocharged engine, with excellent torque and fuel economy values. Over 100 kilometres this 280 Newton-metre (starting at 1,700 rpm) strong four-cylinder consumes just 7.9 litres of fuel, and sports a top speed of 237 km/h.

Providing a maximum of safety in all versions of the Volkswagen CC are optional assistance systems, such as the active lane-keeping system “Lane Assist”, and the dynamic chassis control “DCC”.

“With the base model CC, sporty CC V6, resplendent CC R-Line, optional assistance systems and new family friendly rear bench option, the Volkswagen CC now offers our regional customers more choice than any other model in Volkswagen’s current vehicle line up, ensuring them a Volkswagen that is the ‘perfect fit’,” added Mecha.
