Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class receives a facelift for 2013

Mercedes-Benz has released full-fledged details and snaps of their baby SUV, the 2013 GLK-Class. It will be seen in the flesh at the 2012 New York Motor Show in less than two weeks.

The exterior of the 2013 GLK retains the same sharp lines as the model it replaces, with a few changes to the lights and other minor details. The interior gets those SLS AMG-inspired retro air vents that dominate the redesigned dashboard, and the gearshift lever has been moved to the steering column.

The new model will be available in two specs, namely the uprated GLK 350, now with direct-injection 3.5-litre V6 producing 302 hp and 370 Nm of torque (up from 268 hp and 350 Nm), or the new 2.1-litre GLK 250 BlueTEC diesel that churns out 190 hp and 500 Nm. All motors are matched to a 7-speed automatic with stop-start system, and drive trains can be rear-wheel-drive or 4Matic all-wheel-drive.

Expect a late-2012 launch of the new GLK in Saudi Arabia, UAE and other GCC countries.

Comments

  1. Why does the 3.5 ltr model have 350 Nm torque and the 2.1 ltr Diesel have 500 Nm torque ?

  2. MBs done a good job on the refreshed model of this GLK. Love the designo black & white dual tone leather seats; those air vents are a huge improvement from the earlier ones; the black fake wood looks great as well.

Front lamps are nice but the side profile takes sometime getting used to.

If Gargash & EMC are listening, get the offroad version (with the low range gear & down hill descend switches) + off road tyres, fully loaded model to the UAE. There will be customers for this baby G.
