Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge 2012 results
The results for the 2012 edition of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge are, with the racers finishing their final leg on Friday the 6th. At least the cars category held no surprises.
In the CARS category, veteran rally driver Jean-Louis Schlesser wrapped up a historic sixth Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge title by winning this year’s run with his Sonangol Buggy, beating out UAE’s Khalifa Al-Mutaiwei when his Mini Countryman ALL4 had technical problems. Frenchman Patrick Sireyjol came in third place.
In the BIKES category, Spanish rider Marc Coma today secured his fourth successive Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge title, ahead of fellow countryman Joan Barreda-Bort. Paulo Goncalves from Portugal came in third.
In the QUAD BIKES category, Emirati Obaid Al Kitbe rounded off five days of racing by clinching the win, his second victory in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. Lukas Laskawiec from Poland sealed second place overall, while Camelia Liparoti from Italy came in third.
