Aston Martin Vanquish comes back for 2013

Aston Martin has decided to revive the Vanquish nameplate after a surprise showing at the Villa d’Este show in Europe.

Looking pretty much the same as every Aston Martin since the DB9, the “new” AM 310 Vanquish is based on the VH platform, one that is stiffer by 25%. It comes as no surprise that Aston’s new flagship will be powered by their famed 6.0-litre V12. Under the bonnet is a throbbing 565 hp motor that cranks out 620 Nm of torque transferred via a “Touchtronic 2” 6-speed automatic. All that firepower rockets the car from 0-100 kph in 4.1 seconds and the car will continue accelerating up to 295 kph.

The carbon-fibre body Vanquish borrows many styling cues from their hypercar, the One-77, the stretched waist lines and the LED rear lights are examples of such. Do note the interesting “Aero Duct” featured at the rear end.

The hand-built Aston is manufactured at their global headquarters at Gaydon in Warwickshire and can be ordered as a 2+2 seater or strict 2-seater coupe. What makes the Vanquish more practical than ever is the 368 litres of boot space which is 60% larger than that of the DBS.

The cabin is now larger in volume, and get a treatment of etched and LED-ringed inputs on the centre console.

The new AM 310 Vanquish wears a price tag of £189,995, or around Dhs 1,090,000 in UAE money for the base model. First deliveries of the car in Europe are expected to begin in late 2012, so UAE, Saudi Arabian and other GCC customers will have to wait till early 2013.
