Lexus LS460 2013 revealed early, including F-Sport model

Photos of the revamped 2013 Lexus LS 460 have been revealed early, depicting a car that is largely the same as the old one, but with a heavy all-round facelift and apparently an all-new interior. An LS 460 F-Sport model is also available for the first time.

The 2013 LS line-up still includes the LS 460, LS 460L, LS 600hL hybrid, and now the first-ever LS 460 F-Sport. LS 460 and LS 460L are available in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive, while the LS Hybrid is available with a full-time all-wheel-drive system. There is no mention of engine specs, which likely means they remain unchanged from the outgoing model.

The all-new LS 460 F-Sport combines a more aggressive exterior with a unique sport interior featuring seats with larger bolsters, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters and genuine aluminium trim. With a sport-tuned air suspension that has been lowered slightly, a Torsen limited slip rear differential, Brembo six-piston caliper brakes, and 19-inch forged wheels, the LS F-Sport “promises to be the most engaging LS ever.”

Increased body rigidity enhances stability, and allows for a more comfortable ride. Pitch and bounce control has been enhanced by adopting new frequency-dependent shock absorbers, while revised steering offers improvements in accuracy and turn-in response. The braking system has been adjusted for more immediate power and greater pedal feel.

Available safety enhancements include the industry’s most advanced Pre-Collision Safety (A-PCS) system with Collision Avoidance Assist. This system is designed to assist the driver in avoiding or mitigating collisions with vehicles and pedestrians under a wide range of city and highway speeds. At speeds lower than 38 kph, this technology helps the LS to avoid accidents by automatically bringing the LS to a full stop.

Other new features include a standard navigation system is displayed on a 12.3-inch split-screen display with “remote-touch” controls, fancier climate control and LED interior lighting.

Also available, likely in the U.S. only, is the Lexus Enform with App Suite system that can be used to connect to the net and search for restaurant reviews, buy movie tickets, check-in at Facebook and other junk, but for a yearly fee.

Expect the 2013 Lexus LS to reach Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and other GCC markets by early next year.

Keep track of updates in the Lexus LS buyer guide.

  1. plz don’t tell me this will be over 400,000 dhs for F-sport

the new design is boring and no improvement and the same for GS,LS and even the aurion

  2. I think Lexus is just going in a different direction than all the other car makers. They need to know their strategy on design is NOT working !

  3. tail light that looks like a golf gti ? comeon !

  4. Will be darn expensive……

  5. honestly I thought it is a sports version of the new GS (I didn’t look at the title:)) but then I clicked on the thumbnail pic to see the “sports GS” and was shocked when I read the plate on the car tail (pic5)! I mean seriously, do they even bother to look at the design in hand and probably look at their other cars to avoid duplicating?!!!

  6. Some people will never appreciate Japanese technology wat ever they do. Just prejudice…come on…Lexus makes much better car than Germans.

  7. Just why is every manufacturer copying the BMW’s Interior. All these brands are just fake and unimaginative.
