Maserati Ghibli 2014 entry-level model debuts

2014 Maserati Ghibli
The 2014 Maserati Ghibli midsize luxury sedan has just been revealed by the Ferrari-owned company that is on a mission to increase sales.

The Ghibli will be priced to go up against the BMW 5-Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, although the styling may not quite exude the premium feel of the other two, sharing its front-end with the recently-redesigned Quattroporte and appearing non-descript around the back.

The only engine available will be a 3.0-litre turbo V6, aside from a turbodiesel for European markets. All models get an 8-speed automatic with rear-wheel-drive, while all-wheel-drive is optional.

The Ghibli will officially debut later this month at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. Expect it to reach the GCC by early next year.

Track future UAE/KSA updates in the Maserati buyer guide.
