Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class to be revealed at Frankfurt Motor Show

2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class
Finally, after weeks of teasing us with sketches and spy-shots, Mercedes-Benz has officially treated us with some pictures and valuable details on the 2015 GLA-Class CUV. The new Mercedes is due to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.

And from the details they’ve given us, the GLA-Class seems to be of a shared platform descent with the new A-Class and CLA-Class. Of-course, for many obvious reasons the vehicle also looks very similar to the two. To be more specific, we’re talking about a front that looks very familiar to the CLA-Class and rear tail lights that looks like that of an A-Class, only a bit extended. This does make us feel that they’re going all generic in terms of design. We can’t miss the aggressive and hunkier body though.

The interior too is a direct carryover from the A-Class. Very posh and elegant, with lots of leather. You also get the option of high-quality imitation leather and sports seats.

Mercedes-Benz is expected to launch the GLA250 4Matic first, which comes with a turbocharged direct-injected 2.0-litre inline 4-cylinder engine producing 208 hp and 350 Nm of torque, which will be mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The vehicle, in that setup allegedly hits from 0-100 kph in an impressive 6.4 seconds.

Following that, they will release front-wheel-drive versions of the GLA250. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class will be launched in the US sometime later next year. And even though there’s no official word, we expect the GLA-Class to be launched in UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC by late 2014 or early 2015. We’re closely looking out if they will reveal an AMG version for this CUV.

  1. Though I am a fan and an owner of mercedes, and I like the design of this car, yet I wonder how they call it an SUV/Crossover as it is as tall as a BMW x1 or Infiniti EX. You have no proper road clearance and the ride hight is almost like a normal sedan so I do not know really what is the purpose of calling it so!Some hatchbacks in the market are as tall as those vehicles.

  2. With the brown/copper skin, the car looks more Volvo-ish.

  3. All that interior design and they couldn’t blend that screen within the dash.

  4. I read a magazine that it will be available in UAE next year at a starting price of 150K AED.

  5. Something is wrong with the centre consul of the dash board. Looks ugly!
