2015 Range Rover Sport SVR set for global debut

2015 Range Rover Sport SVR 1
The Range Rover Sport SVR will make its global debut at Pebble Beach on August 14th. It will be the fastest and most powerful Land Rover ever made by the British brand. It will also be the first SVR model, a new designation created for future performance Land Rover and Jaguar products.

The Range Rover Sport SVR gets a 5.0-litre supercharged V8, producing 542 hp and 680 Nm of torque, which is enough for it to accelerate from 0-100 kph in about 4.7 seconds. It has an electronically limited top speed of 260 kph. Land Rover claims even with the added power, fuel economy remains the same as the standard 5.0-litre Range Rover Sport Supercharged.

It registered a lap time of 8 minutes 14 seconds at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, which is one of the fastest ever recorded for a production SUV.

For the first time in a Land Rover, a two-stage active exhaust featuring electronically controlled valves have been installed. This helps keep things quiet when driving normally but produces a louder sportier exhaust soundtrack when the engine is in high revs.

The SVR gets a more aggressive look with its revised front grille, front fender vents, muscular side skirts and 21-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the SVR gets front and back sports seats in two-tone leather upholstery, slapped with some SVR badging. It gets a standard aluminium trim, with carbon-fibre trim available as an option.

The Range Rover Sport SVR could make its way to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries by the end of the year.
