2015 Mercedes-AMG C63 revealed
Mercedes-Benz have revealed pictures and details of the new AMG C63 and C63 S. It follows the new pattern of dropping the Benz from the name and replacing it with AMG, after the Mercedes-AMG GT debuted recently.
Under the hood, gone is the legendary naturally-aspirated 6.2-litre V8 which has now been replaced by a new 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, mated to a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission. The C63 packs 469 hp and 650 Nm of torque, good enough to send it from 0-100 kph in 4.2 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph. The C63 S gets 503 hp and 700 Nm of torque, which propels it from 0-100 kph in 4.1 seconds.
To complement the power, the C63 gets a bodykit which includes sportier bumpers, side skirts, rear diffuser, quad-tail pipes, AMG badges and 18-inch alloy wheels. The C63 S gets composite brakes and 19-inch alloy wheels, glossy black accents on the front bumper. It also gets dynamic engine mounts, an electronic-locking rear differential and revised front and rear axles.
The 2015 Mercedes-AMG C63 should make its debut in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries by summer next year.
