Ford has officially revealed the 2015 Everest, which is set to hit the roads by next year.

Since it is based on the Ford Ranger, the Everest is a proper off-roader with changes made to both the exterior and interior to give it a more premium feel to it. Visual changes include LED daytime running lights, aluminium front and rear underbody protection and a chrome front grille.

For the interior, the 7-seater Everest comes with SYNC2 infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen display, two USB ports, 240-volt socket for the second row, 12-volt outlets in the front and second rows, and the trunk.

The only petrol engine offered for the Everest is the turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Horsepower ratings have not been revealed yet.

It comes with a host of optional safety equipment such as Hill Start Assist, Hill Ascent & Descent & Curve Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Aid, Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Roll Stability Control and ESP.

There is no word that the 2015 Ford Everest will ever come to the GCC, but we heard a while ago that Ford was at least interested in the idea of offering it here again. It certainly looks like a better option than other truck-based midsize 4x4s currently available.

  1. Shut up and take my money! I want mine in Spirit Blue please 🙂

  2. Can we expect a 2.0L ecoboost engine?? 😛

  3. something inline with fortuner of toyota.. 🙂

  4. Goodbye Fortuner & Prado

Ford..lemme knw when the booking starts..I hope you bring in the Ecoboost 2.0 or the v6 3.5 at least..I am waiting!

  5. The a/c vents upfront look a bit like the ones on the Porsche Cayenne, so do the door handles.

  6. I’d take this over any Toyota Fortuner/Prado, Nissan Pathfinder, Mitsubishi Pajero, Honda Pilot. Considering the standard safety tech + if I were to opt for a full option i’d still end up paying less than any of the aforementioned vehicles(and get free servicing 😉 )

  7. Ford, you have done it again! You have created a car that not only batters the Overly confident competition, but you have done it with class. I would have this in white please!

    • And I would also like to note, the amount of safety equipment on this masterpiece is enough to send toyota into hysterics. Please offer this here ford, because if you do you will destroy all of toyota’s fortuners, and all owners of fortuners will want an Everest, but that is if they have a brain. This is a real car, not a plastic coffin with a brash V6 and a TRD Sportivo badge.

    • The Fortuner with the TRD kit looks fugly btw, just saying….

  8. You guys need to make the difference between Toyota as a brand and Prado as a model and what the local dealer decides to sell here! Prado is an amazing machine, only that the dealer wants to make a lot of money and sell Prado’s and LC’s that are poorly equipped! In other markets Toyota’s come with tons of options. Ford chose another marketing approach and sells cars very well equipped in order to fight the strong competition from the japanese brands. Well done for Ford and hopefully the buyers will become more aware and ask for better equipped cars from the japanese and korean dealers! If the sells go down they will have to do something about it! I personally decided against LC because it comes without VSC. It’s ridiculous!
When it comes to the test of time, I dare to say that toyota is ahead. I see far more 20yrs old Toyota’s than Ford’s and that says a lot about the build quality and how the cars age.

    • I will agree with you in regards to Stealers charging more for less equipment. The Toyota/Honda dealer is known for this.
However where the Fortuner is concerned, I, personally would not pay so much for a vehicle that is based on a pick up/van. The vehicle may be reliable where mechanicals/electrics are concerned and everything maybe screwed on well but the interior quality, design etc. is far from desirable and the equipment level is low.
As for the Americans, yes, there was a time when they weren’t as reliable here but things have changed and as you rightly said their strategy is to offer more for less money to attract more buyers. It’s working to an extent as we are seeing more American cars on the road. However the market is set up in such a way that preference(by way of re-sale value etc.) is given to Japanese cars. Unless the public change their buying habits, thereby forcing the Japanese brands to change their strategy, things will continue to remain the same.

  9. Fortuner is an old generation 4×4 that has its buyers due to low price, reliability and toughness. It’s not a luxury car and it was never meant to be. It was created for markets where Prado and LC’ s were too expensive for ppl to afford. It had to be affordable hence the compromises.
However, for someone who doesn’t care about luxury and needs a strong 7 seater 4×4 is the perfect car. It’s based on a truck because in many of those countries where is marketed you need a truck to put up with the quality of the roads.

    • My point is, for what the Fortuner is, it’s too expensive….atleast in this market.

    • Now imagine a Fortuner with better quality plastics, more soft-touch areas, more supple ride (expecting it to be, considering what the Ranger and all other Fords are), many more safety features, same truckish construction, and all the off-road ability complete with diff locks – that we call, the Everest!

  10. 3rd Generation Kia Sorento is better than this…as long as it would still be priced the same.

  11. It is Body On Frame.. I am so buying it when its available…
