Koenigsegg have officially revealed the Regera at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The Swedish manufacturer claims it is a more luxury version of their usual lightweight race-like road cars.

They certainly didn’t hold back the power though, with the 5.0-litre V8, combined with three electric motors, is said to produce in excess of 1500 hp. It can reportedly do 0-100 kph in 2.8 seconds, 150-250 kph takes 3.2 seconds, while the 0-400 kph run can be done in only 20 seconds.

It uses the “Koenigsegg Direct Drive system” which removes the use of traditional transmission and creates direct drive to rear axle from the combustion engine without the need of gears or CVT. Koenigsegg claims this system reduces drivetrain losses by over 50-percent compared to traditional transmissions.

Only 80 of the Koenigsegg Regera will be built. You can be sure a few of them will show up in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar or other GCC countries.

  1. Is that the wiper blade sticking up in the middle of the wind shield? Will that always stick up like that? If so I’m not buying one.

  2. Dad of all hyper cars…still trying to figure out how it works without a transmission….heard there is no reverse gear too….

  3. If you want to go reverse you have to call a tow truck hehhehehe.

  4. Sweet looking Swedish beast! Koenigsegg never disappoints me!

  5. Saw it this evening. Just reached back the hotel after watching the show!
