BMW has officially released images and details of the 2016 3-Series.

For the exterior, the front gets new aprons and a new air intake design, while the rear gets a new apron with LED taillights now standard. New alloy wheel designs will be available as well.

The interior gets minor tweaks as well, with new materials and more chrome used around the cockpit. The centre console has been revised which includes a new sliding cover for the cup holders.

There are new engines available now, with the entry-level 318i getting a new 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine, which produces about 134 hp and 220 Nm of torque.

The 320i gets a new 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit which churns out 181 hp and 290 Nm of torque. The 330i, which replaces the 328i, also gets the same engine but produces more power, which is about 249 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

The 340i, which replaces the 335i, gets an all-new turbocharged 6-cylinder 3.0-litre all-aluminum motor which produces about 322 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Using an 8-speed automatic gearbox, BMW claims it can sprint from 0-100 kph in 5.1 seconds and a hit an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph.

The 2016 BMW 3-Series could reach the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries before the end of the year or early next year.

  1. subtler than subtle i would say 🙂

  2. I really don’t understand why BMW and Mercedes have misleading numbers for their engines. C250 is actually a 2.0T and now the 340i is a 3.0 liter!! Its annoying!

  3. Because they are now becoming more polar bear friendly. They want to tell u the car is more powerful than previous series but cannot put huge engines that is the only reason for choosing these kind of numbers
