2016 Audi A4 officially revealed

2016 Audi A4

Audi has officially unveiled the all-new 2016 variants of the A4 this week. And while there are are not much surprises in terms of design on first glance, there are quite a few changes that margins it away from its predecessor.

The Audi A4 is taking a comparatively sharper design note for 2016 while still maintaining the generic Audi fascia. It does however, improve its stance with a bolder and wider front-grille and spiky headlamps. It is further complemented by the sloping roof-line and flared wheel arches. And as always, there’s the daytime running LED lights, except that it now looks like that of an R8.

Furthermore, the cars will be offered with a choice of seven engines. The standard petrol powered variant will be powered by a 1.4-litre TFSI engine producing 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. There will also be a 2.0-litre TFSI engine producing 188 hp and 320 Nm of torque and a more powerful version of the same, producing 250 hp and 370 Nm of torque. The A4 will also be powered by four diesel variants, namely two 2.0-litre TDI and two 3.0-litre TDI engines, although they’re not expected to make their way into the Middle-East. In any case, the engines will be coupled to Audi’s newly developed six-speed manual gearbox or a new 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch system.

Audi also boasts off considerable weight loss, as the car sheds almost 120 kg over its predecessor. The standard 1.4-litre TFSI variant will weigh in at 1320 kg, while becoming 25mm longer and 16mm wider than the model it replaces. Rear-seat passengers also get an added 23mm of legroom for added comfort.

Speaking about added comfort, there’s controlled LED lighting in the interior to suit your mood, a new 12.3-inch digital instrumental cluster upfront and an 8.3-inch screen taking care of infotainment. Optional features include rear entertainment and premium- Bang and Olufsen sound systems.

The 2016 Audi A4 will go on sale in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and the rest of the GCC sometime later this year.

  1. For the first time the A4 manages to capture my interest. It looks like a bigger version of the A3 sedan, which is actually a good thing especially if its going to ride and handle like the A3.

  2. Love the interior. Audi never disappoints in this dept. 🙂

  3. Please inform when the booking will start here in dubai showroom!
