2017 Chevrolet Trax facelift revealed in Chicago

Chevrolet launched the 2017 Trax facelift at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show.

It gets a restyled front fascia which includes a new grille and redesigned headlights. The rear has also been slightly updated with a new bumper and restyled taillights.

The interior has apparently been improved as well with a new dashboard featuring higher quality materials. It can now be had with the new MyLink infotainment system that features a 7-inch display as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Safety-wise, there are several new options including Forward Collision Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and a Lane Departure Warning system.

Under the hood, the U.S model gets a turbocharged 1.4-litre 4-cylinder engine, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Power output is 138 hp and 200 Nm of torque. It is available in front-wheel drive, with optional all-wheel drive. The current model sold in the UAE and GCC gets a naturally-aspirated 138 hp 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine, which might get carried over here.

The Chevrolet Trax has not been much of a success in the GCC market since its launch back in 2014. Whether this facelift model will help improve the situation remains to be seen.

Keep track of the latest prices and specs in the Chevrolet Trax buyer guide.
