So we got a 2016 Nissan Maxima

2016 Nissan Maxima SR in the UAE

The Maxima has always been a bit different from the rest of the Nissan line. Touted as a “Four Door Sports Car,” this latest one is more flamboyant than ever.

The exterior styling is as original as it can get for a front-wheel-drive midsize sedan. It makes quite an impact when it rolls up. However, that impact is about to get diluted in the near future, as even the Altima and the Sentra are lined up to get the same front-end treatment by the end of this year.

Inside, it is very premium, enough to rival pricier Infinitis. There’s stitched leatherette, a capacitive touchscreen and what not.

Sharing a platform with the Altima, space inside is decent. The boot is huge.

This new model is Nissan’s best effort after a decade’s worth of lukewarm Maxima generations. More in the full review.

  1. College students may have second thoughts of buying this after seeing the last pics capability (baby pram) 😛

  2. Cant wait for the full review,

  3. what I really didnt like about it is one thing, the lights in the front, it gives the car a cheap look not matching its premium price and target buyers, i mean by that, the Day Running Lights are bluish in color, the low beam is hid and also bluish, but the high beam is old school yellow hallogen and the fog lights are big and also yellow, they should have offered full led lights (it is offered now in full option camery which is much more cheaper and from lees category) and lens like fog lights with led like the ones in the Mazda 6 for example

  4. Nice exterior/interior. Why can’t they build them RWD with a 6/7spd box?

  5. the pre 2015 model was much better looking IMHO. Thought the rear design has been improved, the front looks weird, kinda like a sub 100k boring family sedan. Oh and that boring CVT :/
