So we got a 2016 Range Rover SVAutobiography

We’ve driven the 2006 Range Rover. We’ve driven the 2010 Range Rover. Heck, we own a 2005 Range Rover. We’ve also driven all the smaller iterations of the Range Rover that have cropped up in the past decade, namely the Sport and the Evoque. But for one reason or another, we’ve never had the chance to drive the current-generation Range Rover. Doesn’t matter though, as the thing is selling like hot cakes, even in the current economy. However, we finally did manage to get our hands on one last week. Only, it was the long-wheelbase SV Autobiography version — a car we were definitely not expecting to ever drive due to its exclusivity.

At a casual glance, it’s hard to pick up that extra length in the rear doors. But that’s certainly preferable to looking like a limo driver when you’re behind the wheel yourself.

Not that you’d want to spend too much time in front, as the rear seats are aircraft-style recliners with massage and tray-tables.

Still, what blew our minds was how well it drove. Assuming the “regular” Range Rover drives as nice as this, these 4x4s remain the top dog in this lucrative segment. More on that in the full review.

  1. Maybach of SUV’s…. so elegant….

  2. That pram is missing from the last pic 😀

  3. What’s that popping under the driver’s seat armrest? An umbrella like in the Rolls Royce?

  4. Range Rover is a Statement.
It intimidates other similar segment models in a much supreme manner.
Even though it’s not as expensive as a Rolls Royce, it has that edge which makes it stand out and look equally stunning even with a Rolls Royce next to it.

Absolutely in love with it. I wish I can own it some day.
