2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC63 AMG and GLC63 AMG Coupe revealed

Mercedes-Benz has revealed the 2018 GLC 63 AMG and GLC 63 AMG Coupe at the 2017 New York Auto Show.

Looking at the exterior design, the GLC AMG models get the vertical Panamericana grill from the AMG GT series. The grill is accented by the more aggressive diffuser beneath it. The wheel options include 19-inch units for the GLC 63 and the 20-inch units for the GLC 63 S Coupe. The rear is detailed by quad-exhaust pipes surrounded by a rear diffuser. An optional AMG night package adds glossy black finish for parts like the front splitter, side-sill inserts, mirrors, waistline trim and window frames.

The Mercedes-AMG 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 in the GLC is available in two states of tune. The GLC 63 and the GLC 63 Coupe both churn out 469 hp and 649 Nm of torque while the GLC 63 S Coupe adds another 34 horses. The 503 hp output of the GLC 63 S Coupe is accompanied by a colossal 700 Nm torque output. Thanks to this grunt, the standard GLC 63 will do the 0-100 kph run in a whisker over 4 seconds while the S takes just a bit less than 4 seconds to do the same run.

A 9-speed automatic transmission is appointed to deal with the power to the all-wheel drive system. On the GLC 63 and GLC 63 Coupe, the rear axle is fitted with a mechanical limited-slip differential. The more powerful GLC 63 S Coupe utilizes an electronically controlled unit.

The GLC 63, GLC 63 Coupe, and the GLC 63 S Coupe shoud arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries early next year.

Comments

  1. Mercedes are developing some good looking cars – their design principles are now way ahead of the other 2 German marques.

  2. The whole concept of GLC was stolen from the BMW X6 to start with.
Still the X6 still looks more original than this car.
