2020 Volkswagen Passat facelift now in UAE, KSA & GCC

The current generation Volkswagen Passat has been around for 8 years. The 2020 model now gets a much-needed facelift, as well interior upgrades with new technology and additional safety features.

The exterior gets a new front fascia with a bigger front grille, bigger air vents in the bumper and slim LED headlights. The 2020 Passat will be offered in a range of variants starting from the Trendline model which has been upgraded to include features such as the eco-LED headlights and LED taillights as standard, to the Comfortline model with 17-inch alloy wheels and leather steering wheel, up to the Highline which comes with 18-inch alloy wheels as standard and leather sport seats.

Inside, the Passat gets a new, more contemporary instrument panel, along with a new glass-covered infotainment touchscreen. Complementing the new interior design are new colours and better quality materials. Every Passat now comes with standard Volkswagen Car-Net App-Connect technology, which integrates compatible smartphones with the three major platforms – Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink – making select apps accessible from the infotainment screen.

Under the hood, there are no changes with the 2020 Passat getting the same 170 hp 2.5-litre 5-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the VW Passat buyer guide.

  2. Beautiful car works Passat

  3. Well I have a Passat cc, and I have to say what a car, it is far better that any of the 3 series BMW that I have had and I have had a few it beats it hands down in everyway, don’t believe me then go and test drive one , then tell me it’s not well done VW I will get another one no doubt about that

  4. I think that the Passat is one of the best bargains in the industry. With Roomy interior and fabulous views not mentioned great handling. It’s the first car that I’ve happy to owned, if you take care of the maintenance,, you’ll be able to get lots of satisfaction for a long time.

  5. Impressed

  6. I have 2013 VW PASSAT BLUEMOTION
and I like the way, the car is designed.
But wow!!! This fresh new futuristic and sharp design is just awesome!!!
    Congratulations for great achievement!

  7. Needs the US engine. Mazda 6 is a better buy anyway.

  8. Hope this time VW doesn’t miss out on rear AC ducts. My kids forced me to sell off my 2012 Passat for this. Add that, a cost estimate of SAR 6000 to 8000 for first paid service after 60,000 KM was another vital factor.

  9. I have driven so many cars, nothing like passat, feels like a dream when driving.wow is the experience.

  10. My opinions re: new cars…ALL are drastically over-priced, they all look very similar(if not identical), way too much “infotainment” in your vision ( where paying attention to your actual navigation of the vehicle has become secondary), good ole fashioned car keys worked just fine….need I continue? Technology has left behind common sense. Btw, i would love a new Passat!!

  11. My passat does not want to start and eye don’t know why tried everything. Just can’t do it need help what my best way to get it running help me please old veteran

  12. Thanks

  13. Poor Americans, what a shitty interior they get. hahahaha.

  14. Looks good and is a serious update over its precursor. I had thought VW might consider the European-spec version but even this American-spec version doesn’t cease to please. It’s got the finest interiors in my opinion. The only downer for the car might be its 2.5 litre, 5 cylinder 170 hp motor which might put off some enthusiasts and discourage them from purchasing this finely crafted machine. It will work decently well in our region.
