Lamborghini Invencible

Lamborghini Invencible and Autentica celebrates the petrol-only V12 one last time

When the Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae came around, we considered it to be the final hurrah for their petrol-only V12 powertrain. But with two new cars, they have proved the world wrong. Here are the Lamborghini Invencible and Autentica, two proper swan songs for their mighty V12.

Lamborghini was one of the eccentric manufacturers who stood by fire-breathing V12s despite the frantic electrification exercise in the automotive space. But the storm has reached them too. The V12 is not going anywhere but it will now take help from electric motors. But the Lamborghini Invencible and Autentica celebrate the petrol-only V12 in the most glorious fashion possible.

Lamborghini Autentica

The Lamborghini Invencible and Autentica is a proper Lambo V12 symphony in the way they look. The duo combines styling traits from multiple Lamborghini V12 models, including the Reventon, Aventador, Veneno and Essenza SCV12. If that is not enough, it takes its inspiration from yet another Lamborghini, this time not a V12, for its construction. The entire body of the twins is made out of carbon fibre and features hexagonal outlets above the engine, like the Gallardo-based Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.

What sets the Lamborghini Invencible and Autentica apart from each other is the fact that the Invencible is a coupe and the Autentica is a roadster. The Coupe gets finished in a special Rosso Efesto shade while the roadster shines in its Grigio Titans body colour. Both these cars do away with a lot of creature comforts to add lightness.

The tune for the 6.5-litre V12 in these cars is still a mystery though. In the Ultimae, it produces 769 hp and 720 Nm of torque. Expect it to match these figures or even top them. The most powerful this engine has ever gotten is in the Essenza SCV12 track car, in which it produced 818 hp. Even if the   Lamborghini Invencible and Autentica do not match those figures, it will certainly hit 100 kph from a standstill in around 2.8 seconds.

Lamborghini Autentica

Now let us talk about smaller numbers. While the Aventador Ultimae went into production with a production run of 350 coupes and 250 roadsters in mind, these do not have numbers even that big. Both the Lamborghini Invencible and Autentica are one-offs which means two things. One, they are most probably sold already and two, they will definitely cost a heck of a lot more than the $500,000 (AED 1,836,500) asking price of an Ultimae.
