GWM Returns to Liwa Festival 2026 as Gold Sponsor, Showcases Tank 700 and Hi4T Technology
GWM Middle East announced its return to the iconic Liwa Festival 2026 as a Gold Sponsor, marking the brand’s second consecutive year of participation at one of the region’s most prominent off-road and desert culture events. Building on its strong presence last year, GWM is reinforcing its commitment to the UAE and wider Middle East market with a larger and more immersive showcase.
At the heart of the festival, GWM, in partnership with its exclusive UAE dealership, Al Naboodah Group, has set up a dedicated brand showroom designed to give visitors a hands-on experience of the company’s off-road DNA, intelligent technologies and premium craftsmanship. The purpose-built space brings GWM’s product philosophy to life, inspired by the spirit of desert exploration that defines the Liwa Festival.

Tank 700 Makes Regional Festival Debut
Taking centre stage is the newly launched Tank 700, which makes its first appearance at the Liwa Festival. Positioned as GWM’s flagship luxury off-roader, the Tank 700 is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine and features advanced four-wheel-drive systems, combining rugged capability with premium comfort and intelligent driving technology. The model is engineered to handle the region’s most demanding desert and off-road conditions.
“We are proud to be back at the Liwa Festival as a Gold Sponsor for the second year in a row,” said Mr. Parker Shi, President of GWM International. “Liwa represents a deep connection between people, culture, and the desert. With the Tank 700, our Hi4T technology platform, and a dedicated GWM showroom, we are showcasing not just vehicles, but the future of off-road innovation.”
Hi4T Off-Road Hybrid Technology on Display
A key highlight of GWM’s participation is the showcase of its Hi4T (Hybrid Intelligent 4WD-TANK) technology platform. Developed specifically for high-performance off-road driving, Hi4T blends electrified efficiency with uncompromised capability, offering enhanced torque delivery, improved sand-driving control and advanced energy management. The platform underlines GWM’s strategy of combining new-energy technologies with authentic off-road performance.

Full GWM Line-up at Liwa
In addition to the Tank 700, visitors can explore GWM’s wider product range, including the Tank family with models such as the Tank 300 and Tank 500, the Haval SUV line-up including the H9 and H7, as well as the Poer pickup. Interactive displays and on-site product specialists allow visitors to learn more about GWM’s safety systems, intelligent driver assistance features and future powertrain technologies.

Media and Customer Engagement
As part of its Liwa Festival programme, GWM hosted a dedicated Media Day, welcoming 50 media representatives from eight countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Set against the challenging desert terrain of Liwa, the event offered firsthand experience of GWM’s latest vehicles and off-road systems through live sand-driving demonstrations, aligned with the brand’s “Engineered for the Extreme” philosophy.
GWM also announced plans for a Family Day, inviting more than 200 customers and their families to participate in curated off-road experiences and brand-led activities, allowing them to experience the vehicles’ sand-driving performance and Hi4T technology in real desert conditions.
Strengthening Regional Commitment
GWM’s expanded presence at Liwa Festival 2026 highlights the brand’s growing footprint in the Middle East. With an expanding dealer network, enhanced aftersales support and a strong pipeline of upcoming hybrid and new-energy models, GWM continues to focus on delivering vehicles tailored to the region’s terrain, lifestyle and performance expectations.
